It was a huge turnout Thursday evening, Aug. 27, for the premier of the Indiana Regional Medical Center at Chestnut Ridge. The Indiana County Chamber of Commerce was invited to small opening.

The new 31,000 square-foot facility is a comprehensive, one-stop ambulatory health care facility on the grounds of the Chestnut Ridge Golf Resort and Conference Center in Blairsville. The goal is, by expanding IRMC into Blairsville, health care services for area residents will be more accessible.

Steve Wolfe, the President and CEO of IRMC, said last night he's excited about the new facility.

An urgi-care center will operate seven days a week to treat minor illnesses and injuries without a scheduled appointment.

Indiana at Chestnut Ridge will provide outpatient imaging services including x-ray, mammography, CT scans and ultrasound. An on-site blood draw and outpatient lab processing center will also be present. Rehabilitative therapies will be provided through a partnership with the Center for Orthopaedic for Sports Medicine and will include physical and occupational therapies and a hydro therapy pool. The center will also provide access to many IRMC physician specialists who will maintain office space in the center, including but not limited to cardiology, rheumatology, general surgery and more.

The internal medicine practice of Drs. Matthew Klain, Matthew Nettleton and Eric Heasley will anchor the facility.
