State police are investigating an apparent hoax in which someone contacted Blairsville Borough police and said he had taken hostages.

The call came at 5 PM on September 25^th and is just being reported today.  The man said he had three hostages and provided an address in Burrell Township where he was supposedly holding them.  He threatened to kill them if he was not paid $10,000.

Police investigated and found nothing.  Anyone who knows anything about this incident is requested to call Trooper Murdock at the state police barracks at 357-1960.
