Your hometown radio stations have learned of layoffs at a local business. Workers reported the layoffs at CKE, which has locations in Lucernemines and along West Pike Road.
Company officials clarified this morning that the layoff affected around 15 workers. Some of those workers have already been called back to the job and officials say more will return next week.
Company officials attributed the layoffs to the slow economy.
The company is owned by Dean Techonologies. According to their website, CKE got its start in 1980 through the acquisition of the FMC Syntron metallic rectifier and surge suppressor product lines, as well as lines from other companies. The layoffs happened at the company’s location along West Pike Road.
