We should know the results today of a faculty vote at IUP and the 13 other state system universities on their tentative contract with the State System of Higher Education. APSCUF voting was conducted on the campuses on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The tentative contract calls some salary increases over the four year term, but also calls for compromise in certain areas involving healthcare.
The dispute between the state system and APSCUF goes back more than a year, since the expiration of a contract in June of 2011.
The tentative contract will need approval from the state system’s board of governors. The board is not scheduled to meet until April but officials say they could agree to take up the issue earlier.
