BRUSH FIRES BECOMING A PROBLEM IN INDIANA COUNTY
Three more yesterday

4/5/2013

Fire companies across Indiana County are bracing for a potentially busy weekend, with nicer weather drawing people outdoors and the risk of brush fires escalating every day.

There were three more brush fires yesterday, bringing the total to six since last Saturday.

Fire crews from Rossiter and Glen Campbell fought a brush fire off Brickell Road in Canoe Township;  Indiana Company One was dispatched for a brush fire off Shady Drive in White Township; and Plumville firefighters, who have had a busy week, were in action along North Oak Street in Plumville Borough.

With plenty of dry kindling and spring winds prevailing this weekend, you are urged to be very cautious with any outoor burning.
