Indiana Borough police have identified the three men suspected of pulling off a home invasion armed robbery on Tuesday at a home in the 600 block of Maple Street. One of the suspects is former United High School football star Shaquille Howard, who remains at large.
Howard was the victim of a cross-burning incident in 2009. Three men were eventually found guilty of the incident, which happened on the lawn of Howard’s family home in Robinson. He is black and was adopted by a white family.
Police say that Howard, Deontae Bradley of Pittsburgh, and Jalil Dill of Indiana broke into the home early Tuesday and demanded money and drugs from the people who lived there. One of the residents was struck on the head with a gun and had to be treated at IRMC. The suspects fled with $400 cash.
Bradley and Dill have since been arrested in Allegheny County on unrelated charges and are in the jail there. Here in Indiana County, Bradley is charged with robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, and theft. Dill is charged with criminal conspiracy to robbery, burglary, and theft.
An arrest warrant has been issued for Howard and anyone who knows of his whereabouts is urged to call police at 349-2121. He’s charged with robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, simple assault, and theft.
Police say additional suspects will be identified and arrested.
