Kevin Murphy was found guilty today by a jury in Westmoreland County.  The former Indiana County man had been accused of killing his mother, sister and aunt in 2009.

The jury deliberated for a few hours before returning at 5 p.m.  They will begin the penalty phase on Monday, with a decision on whether Murphy should receive the death penalty or life in prison.

In closing arguments today, District Attorney John Peck said that Murphy and his girlfriend, Susan McGuire, planned the murders so they could be together.

The woman were murdered at Murphy's Loyalhanna Township glass shop.

Murphy's defense team pointed out that McGuire now lives with Murphy's best friend, Donald Shondelmyer, who once owned the glass shop.  The two live in Murphy's former home.
