The State of Pennsylvania has seen employment increase by over 19,000 jobs in the month of June, which is the 2nd highest increase in the United States, that according to the Federal Bureau of Labor and Statistics.
In June, non-farm jobs rose across 37 states, with Pennsylvania seeing 19,100 jobs. Despite this, Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate remained at 7.5 percent, which remains the lowest unemployment rate for the state since March of 2009. Secretary of Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and Industry Julia Hearthway said that the state is on a continued growth trend due to over 130,000 private sector jobs since Governor Tom Corbett took office and an unemployment rate that’s currently below the National rate.
