Work that was to have begun last night on Route 422 in Shelocta and Armstrong Township has been rescheduled to begin August 5th.
PennDOT gave no reason for the delay in the $1.44 million project, which will be done only at night so it does not affect daytime traffic on the heavily-traveled highway. Traffic may be restricted to a single lane between7 PM and 6 AM each night between the Route 56/156 intersection and Ridge Road. Even with the delay of a week, PennDOT still anticipates it will be done mid-October.
Starting today, crews will be doing daytime clearing, grubbing, and stockpiling, but there will be no traffic restrictions during that work.
