POLICE SAY INDIANA WOMAN STABBED HERSELF IN HOME INVASION HOAX
Claimed to be stabbed by intruder

7/30/2013

An Indiana woman has been charged with stabbing herself and then reporting that she had been attacked in a home invasion.

State police say 20-year-old Jasmine Mock of 1640 Saltsburg Avenue in White Township reported that an unknown man had entered her home on May 21st and stabbed her with a kitchen knife.  She was taken to Indiana Regional Medical Center and then flown to a Pittsburgh hospital.

Trooper Timothy Lipniskis says his investigation revealed that the home invasion story was a hoax and that Mock had stabbed herself.

Mock was charged yesterday in a filing before District Judge Susanne Steffee.  A preliminary hearing on a single charge of false reports has not yet been scheduled.
