The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed on as a sponsor for the B.E. Taylor Christmas Concert to benefit the Teddy Bear Fund Drive, and today a group including Pirates’ broadcaster Greg Brown and several players will be coming to the Indiana Regional Medical Center to deliver their gift.
But the $2,500 contribution to sponsor the Indiana County Voices of Christmas choirs at the December 20th concert is only one of the reasons the Buccos are coming to Indiana. While they are here, the Pirates’ representatives are going to take a group of children to the 700 Shop in downtown Indiana and buy them brand new winter coats.
The visit with the children is not a public event, but rather is part of an effort by the team to reach into communities to meet the needs of the Pirates’ family of fans.
