    SECOND VICTIM IDENTIFIED IN BLAST
Two men killed Friday in Allegheny County well explosion

    7/26/2010

Authorities this afternoon have identified the second worker killed Friday in an explosion at a gas and oil well in Allegheny County as 56-year-old Andy Yosurack Jr.of Creekside in Indiana County.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office reports that the cause of death remains unknown pending results of toxicology and other tests. It took several days to identify Yosurack because his body was badly burned.

46-year-old Kevin Henry of West Wheatfield Township, (the Clyde area) was identified on Saturday as one of the two who were killed. The two men were working for Northeast Energy, an Indiana County company that was a subcontractor for the well’s owner, Huntley & Huntley of Monroeville. A third man working at the site was uninjured.

Medical examiners say dental records were needed to help identify the badly-burned bodies. The heat from the blast was so intense that it melted the tires off the victims’ truck. A crew of well-fire specialists from Texas was flown in to cap the well.

Investigators still don’t know what touched off the inferno, but they say there was welding being done on the oil tank that exploded. The well is a shallow well off a remote road. It was drilled in May 2008.
