Scattered Power Outages and Flooded Basements Reported In Indiana County

The remnants of Hurricane Sandy brought plenty of rain but few power outages and flooded basements to Indiana County.

According to the Penelec web site, around 100 customers in Indiana County were without power around 6 a.m.

There were a few flooded basements reported to Indiana County's Department of Emergency Management, mainly in Homer City, Center Township and Young Township.

Local stores reported heavy traffic and many sold out of items like D-batteries.  Giant Eagle manager Dennis Bray reported that water sales had picked up ten fold at the store.
