STOLEN TRACTOR TRAILER FOUND WITH MOST OF LOAD INTACT
Rig apparently was stolen for scrap metal load

11/9/2012

The tractor trailer stolen from the Tri Star parking lot in Burrell Township overnight Monday was found yesterday morning, only about a half-mile away at the Jonnet Auto Flea Market along Route 22.

The rig and its load of aluminum concrete forms were valued at $420,000, and it was found mostly intact, although some of the forms were missing.  The flea market’s operators telephoned Keystone Country Concrete of Brookville, Jefferson County yesterday to ask them to move the truck, which was parked behind their building.  A company spokesperson says the missing 8-foot-by-3-foot forms were probably taken to sell for scrap metal.

Police are still investigating.  If you know anything about the theft, you are asked to call 357-1960.
