DINNER TO BENEFIT CANCER-STRICKEN SOLDIER
Commodore native battles testicular cancer

Family and friends of a Commodore native are planning a benefit spaghetti dinner/basket bash for him to help with expenses related to his testicular cancer.

 

20-year-old Army E4 Specialist Active Duty soldier Jimmy Davis, a 2010 graduate and former athlete at Purchase Line High School, was diagnosed with testicular cancer earlier this year and was brought back from the Iraq/Kuwait theater in June.  He underwent surgery to remove a tumor on September 11th and is receiving chemotherapy.

 

Davisis married to the former Cassie Sciulli of Indianaand they hope to start a family but that is uncertain because of his type of cancer.  The event on December 1st is to help defray costs not covered by insurance.  It begins at5 PM  at the Kinport Assembly of God Ministry Center along Route 240 in Cherry Tree and the drawings for the baskets will start at7 PM.
