More than 500 people packed the floor Thursday of the Ed Fry Arena at the Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex for the annual Indiana County Chamber of Commerce Luncheon. '
Pittsburgh Steelers President Art Rooney, II was scheduled to be the keynote speaker at Thursday’s luncheon, but had to cancel his appearance due to the death of his sister, Rita. In his place, Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert spoke, making comparisons to the 100-year history of the Chamber and the 80-year history of the Steelers.
This is the first year that the Chamber has used the Kovalchick Complex for its annual luncheon. I spoke with Chamber President Dana Henry after the luncheon. He says the Ed Fry Arena perfectly accommodating Thursday’s guests. Henry added that the annual Chamber Luncheon and the Chamber itself, continues to grow, even as similar organizations across the nation have struggled.
The Chamber has a new chairman for the year ahead, Bob Kane of Reliant Holdings.
