Storm to bring as much as 4 to 8 inches of snow

Let’s hope this “storm” turns out as well as the one predicted for last Friday…that one never materialized.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning, predicting the front that will move into our area today could dump as much as 4 to 8 inches of snow, but will more likely drop 1 to 3 inches with the possibility of another inch tonight.

The snow should start in the 7 AM hour, intensify in the mid-morning, and combine with higher winds from about noon until 3 o’clock, with the heaviest accumulations in the early afternoon.  A wintry mix of snow, sleet and freezing rain could begin in the late afternoon, with mainly freezing rain in the evening hours, switching over again to a wintry mix the rest of the night.

As always, drivers are reminded to be very cautious.  PennDOT crews will be out in full force to pretreat roads and then drop the plows when needed.
