HEARING FOR CHURCH/HOME BURGLARY SUSPECTS CONTINUED
Mother and sister of one suspects to have hearings tomorrow

12/26/2012

Preliminary hearings originally scheduled for today have been moved to January 16th for two Seward men accused of attempting to break into a home in Armagh, with state police saying additional charges will be filed as they investigate the suspect’s involvement in numerous burglaries at churches and homes in the Armagh area.

22-year-old Nathan Yanity and 31-year-oldGregory McAdoo, who both live at Yanity’s mother’s home along Route 403, are in the Indiana County Jail after their arrests last Thursday.  An Armagh homeowner caught them trying to break into his home, held them at gunpoint, and released them after they gave their identities, which turned out to be false.

Using photographs, the victim identified the suspects as Yanity and McAdoo and police tracked them down at the Black Lick home of Yanity’s sister.  One of the suspects confessed to the church and home burglaries and implicated the other.

McAdoo is already serving probation after having spent time in state prison for the armed robbery of a Marion Center bank branch ten years ago, and both suspects have long histories of trouble with the law.

Yanity’s sister, Nicole Yanity, and mother Tonya Yanity, face charges of hindering apprehension for hiding the suspects.  Both mother and sister have preliminary hearings scheduled for tomorrow before District Judge Guy Haberl.
