WEATHER-RELATED INCIDENTS KEEP FIREFIGHTERS BUSY
Indiana County hit with first major snowstorm of the season

As the snow began to pile up yesterday afternoon, so did the number of emergency calls, with numerous wrecks reported throughout Indiana County.

 

The first accident call came in at 12:43 PM, with Armagh/East Wheatfield Township firefighters summoned for a crash involving a tractor trailer on Route 56.  Seward was called to assist.   

 

At 3:14, Commodore firefighters were called to an accident on Berry Lane in Green Township.

 

Indiana firefighters and borough police were summoned for a vehicle into a structure along Philadelphia Street at 3:42 PM.  There were no reported injuries.

 

Minutes later, Cherryhill Township, Pine Township, state police, and Citizens Ambulance responded to a crash on Route 553 in Cherryhill Township. 

 

There was another accident shortly before 7 PM on Route 119 South in Burrell Township.

 

And just before midnight, Indiana companies 2 and 3 were called for a flue fire at 1540 Philadelphia Street.
