A Derry man is facing charges after police say he tried to pass counterfeit bills.  The incident happened on Saturday at the Blairsville Italian Club in Blairsville. 

Police say 34-year-old Vince Skillings passed three counterfeit $10 bills to another person in exchange for a legitimate $20 bill.  The transaction was witnessed by an off-duty state trooper who knows Skillings. 

The bills were taken and immediately recognized as counterfeit.  Skillings is now facing charges of theft by deception.
