Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow on Saturday. The groundhog emerged at Gobbler's Knob around 7:25 a.m. and predicted an early spring.
Members of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club's Inner Circle said Saturday's crowd was the largest on record.
Those in attendance braved frigid temperatures of around 2 degrees above zero to see the annual prediction.
This year was the 127th trek to Gobbler's Knob. Visitors this year included Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley and the screen writer of the film "Groundhog Day."
Events continue throughout the day in downtown Punxsutawney. Included is the induction of Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel to the Meteorology Hall of Fame at the Punxsutawney Weather Discovery Center.
