A preliminary hearing is set for today for a 33-year-old Dayton man accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl.  Police say Michael Shaffer was 30-years-old at the time. 

Police say he began a sexual relationship with the girl, whom he met in March 2010 when her mother began dating his neighbor.  The two eventually moved in together at a home in Kittanning Township that October and they moved into Shaffer’s Rural Valley home in November. 

Police started their investigation in 2010 and Shaffer allegedly admitted that the two shared a bed but never had a sexual relationship. 

He’s facing separate charges for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old girl in 2007.  He was taken to the Armstrong County Jail and later released on $25,000 bond.
