PITTSBURGH MAN TO BE SENTENCED FOR BURRELL TOWNSHIP ARMED ROBBERY
Defendant fired shot at clerk at Adult World store

3/25/2013

One of two men who were involved in the armed robbery of the Adult World video store along Route 22 in Burrell Township last year is scheduled to be sentenced today in Indiana County Court.  (8:30 AM, Judge Martin)

23-year-old Keith Lamont Fields of Pittsburgh pleaded guilty in November to four felony counts of aggravated assault, two felony counts of robbery with the threat of serious bodily injury, and one felony count of conspiracy, plus misdemeanor theft.

Co-defendant Louis Rice, who is also from Pittsburgh, pleaded guilty to a single count of robbery and three other charges were dropped.  He was sentenced last month to 4 years, 6 months to twenty years in prison.

Fields and Lamont robbed the store in January 2012.  Investigators said they entered the store and Fields fired a shot into the ceiling.  After they got cash from the register, they turned as they were leaving and Fields fired a shot in the direction of the clerks, but the bullet hit a wire rack and became lodged in a counter.

Both men were arrested in March.  They were also charged along with another man, Gerald Davis of Monroeville, with thirteen other armed robberies in Allegheny and Westmoreland counties.
