The Marion Center School Board meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. Among the items on the agenda is a motion on whether to investigate the possibility of offering a foreign language course at the elementary level. Another motion focuses on school security. Members of the board will vote on whether to develop a school security officer position.
This is something members of the board discussed with district residents and parents at their work session meeting last Monday. Under buildings and grounds, the members will vote to solicit bids for new security cameras. The yearly ARIN budget is up for approval. Marion Center and the other districts involved in the intermediate unit are responsible for a portion of its budget. The board is also expected to accept the retirement request of the district’s Director of Buildings and Grounds John Stile.
