The search for a new superintendent continues in the Purchase Line School District.
As we previously reported, Tina Hazelett retired as the Purchase Line Superintendent in late June. Since then the search has been going on for a new permanent superintendent, and it looks like the search will soon go into the next step. Acting superintendent Dr. Paul Gallagher says the application deadline is coming up soon.
In other business, the board elected Mary Jean Hodak to the board to fill the position left vacant by Scott Gearhart, who resigned his position at last month’s school board meeting due to personal reasons. The board also approved a bid for Hillsdale Construction to perform surface improvements to the football field and the band practice field at a cost of just over $63,000. While it was more than the $44,880 that was budgeted, that estimate did not include the cost of working on the band practice field.
