GREEN TOWNSHIP FIRE DESTROYS TRAILER, LEAVES FAMILY HOMELESS

10/22/2013

A family of six has been displaced due to a fire at their home in Green Township.  Commodore, Cherry Tree, Plumville and Pine Twp Fire Departments were called out around 7:30 last night to fight the fire at a trailer off of Route 240 in Green Township.

Commodore Fire Chief Ted Hutchinson said that by the time they got there, the trailer was fully engulfed.  Some of the family were home, but were able to get out safely, while others were not at home at the time of the fire.  Chief Hutchinson believes the fire may have started in the living room.  The cause of the fire is unknown, but state police fire marshals are investigating the cause of the fire.

The American Red Cross is assisting by putting the family up in a motel room for now and also getting them some clothes.
