3 to 5 inches now expected instead of 7 to 12

The National Weather Service has backed off its earlier prediction for snowfall accumulations for today’s predicted storm.  After forecasting 7 to 12 inches on Friday, the weather service now says we can expect 3 to 5 inches of snow through tomorrow morning, with the most intense snow in the late afternoon and early evening today.

On a related note, as we enter into March, this winter we have had exactly twice the amount of snow as we had last winter on the same date, as measured at the Two Lick Filtering Plant of the Pennsylvania American Water Company.  The total for this winter so far has been 68.4 inches.  At this time last year, we had had 34.2 inches.
