WINTER WEATHER CAUSES PROBLEMS ON AREA HIGHWAYS
Seven accidents on Sunday

3/3/2014

No one was injured yesterday afternoon when an Allegheny County man’s car spun into an embankment along Route 403 in East Wheatfield Township.  State police say the crash north of Cramer Pike happened when Warren Jackson of Penn Hills lost control on a right-hand curve.  Damage to the car was severe.

Yesterday was a rough day for drivers, with the winter weather contributing to a number of accidents on area roadways.  Seven crashes were reported, starting with one at about 9:30 AM on Route 286 in Green Township.  That was followed by a crash at around 11:30 AM on Route 286 in YoungTownship, and another one shortly before noon on Route 217 in Burrell Township.

Then there were three accidents within minutes of each other on Route 119 South in Center Township.  Crashes were reported at 12:57 PM, 1:02, and 1:10.  Rounding out the accident reports from yesterday was a crash on Route 403 in Cherryhill Township just after 5 PM.
