Work will get underway next week on a stretch of road that connects Cambria and Clearfield counties via Indiana County.
About a mile of Route 219 through Cherry Tree Borough will be milled and resurfaced, with some additional guardrail work. Traffic will be reduced to a single lane controlled by flaggers at times throughout the project, which is scheduled to last into October.
It’s a $231,000 project made possible by Act 99, the state’s new transportation plan. PennDOT says the new law has enabled more than $66 million in new funding to pave 126 additional miles of roads in the five-county District 10 area.
