Personnel moves in advance of school year star

The Blairsville-Saltsburg School board last night approved bids for improvements at the Blairsville High School auditorium and football stadium.

The auditorium contract is worth $187,200 and the football stadium authorization is for $8,126 for fencing, storm piping, and filter fabric.  The funds come from a pool of $20,000 set aside for the stadium.  The board also approved $7,300 for new steel entry doors on the Saltsburg campus, plus $8,200 for new steel entry doors with safety glass at Saltsburg Elementary.

Among personnel items in advance of the start of the school year, the board approved the hiring of Brian Wolfe as a fulltime teacher and Rebecca Smith as a long-term substitute science teacher through the first semester.  The substitute teacher and support staff lists were approved, as was the list of bus drivers and substitutes.

A number of service agreements with organizations and individuals were also approved.
