HELEN REEGER, 85
ROBINSON-LYTLE'S OF INDIANA

Helen Lucille Fleming Reeger, 85, of Indiana, formerly of Shelocta, passed away Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at her daughter’s residence, surrounded by her family and especially her two loving sisters, with whom she shared a close and loving relationship.

A daughter of the late W. Carl and Goldie L. Crum Fleming, she was born May 11, 1928, in Plum Creek, Armstrong County.

Mrs. Reeger was a graduate of Indiana High School and a member of the Shelocta Presbyterian Church. First employed by G. C. Murphy 5&10 in Indiana, out of high school in 1946, she worked various jobs throughout her life including, Brookville Glove Co., managing the pantry at Indiana Hospital and an instructional aide for Homer City Arin Intermediate Unit (IU #28). While holding numerous jobs, she raised four children. She married in 1948 to the only man ever in her heart, Boyd K. Reeger. Mrs. Reeger enjoyed traveling with her sisters, crocheting, sewing, canning, gardening, and with her many precious friends, she helped to start a Canasta Club that she enjoyed for many years before her illness. A kind and gentle lady, loved by neighbors and friends where she spent most of her life in Shelocta.

She is survived by three children: Donald B. Reeger, of Homosassa, Fla.; Linda L. Dreischalick and husband Timothy, of Indiana; and Patricia D. Heckman, of Virginia Beach, VA.; two sisters: Ruth Eleanor Plowman and husband Don, of Indiana; and Mary Thelma Winters, of Shelocta; eight grandchildren: Barry Reeger, Becky Reeger, Bethany Reeger, Melissa Gundy, Melanie Gundy, Michael Heckman, Misti Heckman, and Kimberly Dreischalick and spouses; nine great-grandchildren: Austin, Kirsten, Erek, Shane, Olivia, Albert, Garret, Cameron, and Chase, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Timothy C. Reeger; an infant brother; and a sister, Shelby Jean Fleming.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Matt Jones officiating. Interment will be in Curry Run Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Curry Run Cemetery Association, 155 Sandro Street, Indiana, PA 15701 or Shelocta Community Presbyterian Church, 182 South Ridge Road, Shelocta, PA 15774.
