Janet Frances Learn, 90, of Roanoke, Va., formerly of Indiana, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at the Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, in Roanoke, Va.

A daughter of the late Joseph E. and Laura A. Noel Hines, she was born Feb. 16, 1923, in Cresson.

Mrs. Learn was a homemaker and a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church. She enjoyed working in the greenhouse, gardening, canning, reading, and crocheting, but just being involved with family gave her the greatest joy.

She is survived by two children: Dale R. Learn and wife Marilyn, of Indiana; and Danielle Learn-Brenner and husband Jay, of Roanoke, Va.; a brother, William Hines and wife Rosetta, of Loretto; 8 grandchildren: Jeffrey, Julie, and Andrew Learn; Arin, Brandon and Chadd Brenner; Jayden and Jayce Learn, and their beloved mother, Carrie Lisbon; two great-grandchildren: Caleb Learn and Ty Steffey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard G. Learn, Jr.; three children: an infant son, William H. Learn, and Jhan F. Learn; four brothers: Joseph, James, Paul and Edward Hines; and three sisters: Anna Marie Campbell, Doris Moreland, and Elizabeth Epplett.

Friends will be received from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, followed by a funeral mass at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
