BENCE-MIHALCIK FUNERAL HOME IN INDIANA

Josephine Ann (Recupero) Patti, 96, of Indiana, PA passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 3, 2012.

 

She was the daughter of Phillip and Rose (Russo) Recupero, born on February 28, 1916 in McIntyre, PA.

 

Josephine was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, where she was the longest standing member of the Catholic Daughters of America.  She was also a member of the Lions Auxiliary.  Josephine was a homemaker and the co-owner of Nap Patti’s Bar, which is now operated by her daughter Mary Jo and grandson Nick as Nap’s Cucina Mia.  Josephine loved cooking for her Napoleon and her family and friends.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

 

She is survived by her two children: Sam and wife Debra of Pittsburgh, Mary Jo Karas and husband William of Indiana; four grandchildren, Maura Karas of Los Angeles, Kristen Angelicchio and husband Christopher of Greensburg, Nicholas Karas of Indiana,   Italia Patti of Chicago; one great-granddaughter, Gia Rose Angelicchio, and two great-grandsons, Dominic and Marco Angelicchio.

 

Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Napoleon “Nap” Patti; 12 brothers and sisters: Nick, John, Joseph “PeBe”, Tony, Herman, Frank, Jim, Phil, Lena Ferrante, Jennie Leone, Mary Recupero and Rose Recupero.

 

Family and friends will be received on Monday, November 5, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a prayer service at 3:45 p.m. at the Bence-Mihalcik Funeral Home, Indiana.  Her funeral Mass will be on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
