    Ronald Alan Hook, 67, of Decker’s Point, PA passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Zion, IL with his loving wife by his side following a courageous battle with cancer.
    The son of Michael and Mary (Betsa) Hook, he was born on February 10, 1945 in Banks Twp., Indiana Co., PA.
    Ron was a lifetime member of the SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Urey, PA, where he would assist with the reading of the Epistle.
    He served in the Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War having been stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base in Texas.
    For over forty years Ron had worked at Polyvision, where he had last been employed as a foreman.
    He loved his family and he was the epitome of a good, good man. Ron loved all sports, especially football and he was known as an ardent Buffalo Bills fan.
Ron enjoyed using his mind to perform math problem solving skills as he possessed a sharp mind adept at figuring out mathematical formulas and statistics. He was also fond of obtaining further knowledge regarding science and history.
    Ron loved his pets and animals in turn exhibited an innate fondness for him. He was especially fond of his two pets – “Kitten” who would curl up and take naps on him and his horse, “Babe.” In his spare time, he also greatly enjoyed spending time outdoors gardening and tending to flowers.
    He married his wife, Sally Ann (Richards) Walls Hook, in July 2001.
    Ron is survived his wife, Sally, of Decker’s Point, PA; three stepsons: Gary Troy Walls; Jeffrey Walls and Matt Walls and wife Sabina. Also surviving are his three sisters: Irene Smilo of RD Glen Campbell, PA; Betty Patton of North Palm Beach, FL and Margie Hook of RD Glen Campbell, PA and his many nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: John and George Hook; stepson, Joseph Walls; niece, Amanda Smilo; nephew, John Hook and brother-in-law, John Smilo.
    Friends will be received from 7-9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, 2013 and from 2-4:00 and 7-9:00 p.m. on Friday, January 25, 2013 at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. There will be a Parastas service on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. A 10:00 a.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Urey on Saturday, January 26, 2013 with the V. Rev. Fr. Mark Meholick as celebrant. Interment will follow at the SS Peter and Paul Orthodox Church Cemetery, Urey, PA.
    In lieu of flowers, Ron’s memory may be honored with memorial contributions being sent to the SS Peter & Paul Orthodox Church, c/o 3635 Lochvale Road, Glen Campbell, PA 15742.
