Ida Elizabeth Long, 88, of Clymer, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at her residence, surrounded by her family.
A daughter of the late David Alexander and Idabelle Elizabeth Miller Lute, Sr., she was born Aug. 25, 1924, in Dilltown.
Mrs. Long was a homemaker and a nurse’s aide at Scenery Hill, Mountainview and Indian Haven. Ida enjoyed spending time in the flower garden, quilting, and reading the Bible. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by seven children: Harry Long, of Austin; Mildred Patterson and husband James, of Cherry Tree; Robert Long and wife Georgia, and Blair Long and wife Joanne, all of Clymer; Wayne Long, of Lorain, OH.; Kimberly Henline and husband Darrel, of Commodore; Carolyn Long, of Clymer; daughter-in-law, Esther Long, of Heilwood; 22 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death her husband, Forest Blaine Long; a son, Forest Lute; her step mother, Isabelle Fetterman Lute; and 12 siblings, Mary Keith, Ellen O’Shell, Pearl O’Shell, Lewis O’Shell, Francis O’Shell, Oley Lute, Edith Patterson, Leroy Lute, Orvete Fair, Beulah Cameron, David Alexander Lute, Jr., and Isaac Lute.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, with the Rev. Robert White officiating. Interment will be in McDowell Cemetery.
