RAIRIGH-BENCE FUNERAL HOME IN CLYMER

Olive May (Rumsey) Fowler, 82, of Penn Run, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center. The daughter of the late Emerson and Hazel (McCurdy) Rumsey, she was born in Homestead, PA on July 27, 1930.

Olive was a former member of the Harmony Presbyterian Church in Penn Run. She was a florist for many years at Markel’s Greenhouse. She had also worked at Montgomery Wards in Indiana and at both Ratay’s Drive-In Restaurants in Clymer and Spangler.

 

She is survived by two children: Jean  Marie Christner & husband, Roger of Summit Mills, PA; and Donald “Paul” Fowler of Penn Run. Her siblings are: George Rumsey, Penn Run; James Rumsey, Canton, OH; and Velma Morrow, Indiana. Olive’s two grandchildren are: Mary Beth Custer, Clymer and John Christner, Summit Mills. Other survivors include her great grandchildren: Duncan, Cameron and Katlynn Custer, along with many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death be her husband, John J. Fowler, who died July 21, 2002 and her sister, Mary Hazel Benko.

 

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 16th at 11 AM at the Missionary Alliance Church in Clymer. A luncheon will follow at the church. Interment will be held at a later date in the Harmony Presbyterian Cemetery, Penn Run.
