          Lillian Paulene (Vizi) Smith, 69, of Blairsville, PA went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at her home with her family by her bedside after a long courageous battle with cancer.

          A daughter of Albert and Viola (Bollinger) Vizi, she was born November 23, 1943 in Windber, PA.

          Lillian graduated from Windber High School in 1961 and worked for Blairsville-Saltsburg School District for 28 years, retiring in 2009, as the elementary cafeteria manager in Blairsville. 

          She was a member of the Independent Traditional Holiness Church, Indiana, where she was the financial secretary and taught Sunday school and was also a member of the Pennsylvania State Education Association.

          She enjoyed flower gardening and watching basketball games at Blairsville and Homer City.

          Surviving are her husband of 42 years, William D. Smith whom she married September 26, 1970; a daughter, Kelli D. Zerfoss (Jeffrey) of Homer City; a granddaughter, Kierisa Zerfoss; a sister, Violet Gladis of Windber and several nieces and nephews.

          She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Albert “Toby” Vizi; a sister-in-law, Margaret Vizi and a brother-in-law, Richard Gladis.

          The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Wednesday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home with Rev. Charles Williamson and Rev. David Lee co-officiating.

          Interment will be in Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.

          Memorial contributions in Lillian’s name may be made to the Independent Traditional Holiness Church, 5065 Ferguson Road, Indiana, PA  15701.
