Helen Marcella Lockard, 88, of Claysville, passed away Monday, May 6, 2013, at Washington Hospital in Washington.
A daughter of the late Floyd and Edith Marie Frye Johns, she was born May 29, 1924, in Saltsburg.
Mrs. Lockard was a homemaker. She enjoyed baking, cooking, reading books, doing word search puzzles, and watching games shows and wrestling on television.
She is survived by five children: Merle Alvin Johns, of Washington; Floyd Maurice Lockard, of Indiana; Arthur James Lockard, Sr. and wife Nancy, of Iselin; Evelyn Marcella Lockard Conner, of West Mifflin; Cheryl Jean Lockard, of Claysville; a brother: Charles Johns, of Saltsburg; two sisters: Doris D. Miller, of Fla.; Norma Cochran, of Washington; 17 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Maurice Lockard; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Robinson-Lytle, Inc., Indiana, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Arnold Watts officiating. Interment will be held in Edgewood Cemetery.
