SHOEMAKER FUNERAL HOME IN BLAIRSVILLE

     John R. Zofchak, 73, of Blairsville, PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at his home.

          The son of John S. and Juliana (Hancherick) Zofchak, he was born September 28, 1939 in Waterman.

          He had a great love of God and was a devote Christian.  He was a volunteer patrolman for the Brush Valley Christian Retreat for more than 30 years and attended the Full Gospel Business meetings at Rustic Lodge.

          He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

          Prior to his retirement in 1997, he was employed by Fisher Scientific, Indiana and was a veteran of the Navy.

          Surviving are his wife, Charlotte Mae (Shaulis) Zofchak to whom he married September 6, 2008; two daughters, Lori J. Wilson (Dave) of Indiana and Stacy L. Trunzo of Indiana; a stepson, Gilbert Snyder of Blairsville; four grandchildren, Kyle Wilson, Chad Wilson, Kelsey Trunzo and Megan Trunzo; two sisters, Bonnie Rifenburg (Ronald) of Uniontown and Nancy Brallier (Hugh) of Ligonier.

          He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Theodore.

          The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at the Shoemaker Funeral Home, Inc., 49 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday in the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, with Rev. Beverly J. Banyay officiating.

          Interment will be in St. Bernard Cemetery, Indiana, PA.

          Military services will be accorded by the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and the American Legion Post #0407.
