PIRATES LET ONE GET AWAY FROM NATIONALS

5/5/2013

The Pittsburgh Pirates Bullpen had a rare occasion to let one get by them as the Bucs lost to the Washington Nationals 5-4 on Saturday.

Starling Marte and Clint Barmes each had a two-run home run in the game, with Marte's homer coming in the third inning and Barmes' home run coming in the 5th inning.  After Washington tied it at 4-4 in the top of the 6th, Tyler Moore scored the eventual game-winner in the top of the 9th inning by hitting a sacrifice fly that scored Ryan Zimmerman.

Jeff Locke went 5 innings, getting a no-decision, allowing 3 runs on four hits and striking out three.  Reliever Tony Watson was tagged for the loss.

The Pirates and Nationals play again today and you can hear it on AM 1160 WCCS starting at 12:35 with the pre-game show.
